Founder

Prior to founding DCF Capital Partners Derek served as CFO for several venture and private equity-backed technology and services companies where he was directly involved in raising several rounds of equity and debt to fund growth and acquisitions. He has led and advised clients on multiple buy-side and sell-side acquisitions and across North America and Europe. He helped grow an early stage Waterloo-based enterprise software company leading to its strategic sale to Intel. As CFO of North America’s largest powerline airborne imaging company, he helped lead its growth from $10 million to $45 million in revenue from 2009 to 2013 including four acquisitions and three rounds of financing.

Since 2001 Derek has also acted as an independent director for several private companies helping them address growth issues including financing, operations, leadership, and M&A.

Derek is a Chartered Accountant (Ontario and BC) and holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. He is also a CFO member of AceTech Ontario.

Dennis is an experienced C-suite executive leading and implementing his company's short term and strategic plans, which have included start-ups as well as $50 million high growth concerns. In the past 10 years alone he has been involved in over $100 million of financing and M&A transactions. Prior to that he was also a Vice President within the Corporate Finance practice of Ernst and Young where he provided transaction advisory services to emerging companies.
 
Dennis is a Chartered Professional Accountant and Chartered Business Valuator and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University. He is also a CEO member of AceTech Ontario and currently serves on the board of directors of the Southwest Ontario Angel Group.

Jessica is senior management professional with a strong background in IT, business and sustainability, and backed by professional project management training.

With more than fifteen years experience working in and running IT departments for venture-backed high-growth companies, large corporations, government, cultural institutions, non-profits and member associations, Jessica has an excellent understanding of the challenges and opportunities each of these organizational models.  Jessica holds a BCom, PMP certification, and an MBA in Sustainable Business.
